Christmas Carol litter

Our own Isi Kaffisukkulathi "Kaffi" and Thordunu Leppatuska "Elska" are expecting Puppies on Christmas Day!

Kaffi was judged Best 12 to 18 month old Dog at the AISC Fun  Match and ISAA 10th Anniversary Gathering in Hagerstown Maryland in 2007, Elska was judged Best Medium Coated Bitch in the Open Class at the same event.  The event judged by AKC Judge Karin Ashe was the largest gathering of Icelandic Sheepdogs in the history of the breed in North America, a record setting 43 Icelandic Sheepdogs attended!

Kaffi is the rarest color of all in the Icelandic Sheepdog, a Chocolate Tri-Color currently there are a possible 18 worldwide in this color, only two in the United States.  Elska carries half the ingredients for Chocolate Tri- so we have our fingers crossed that we may see one in their litter.

Both of these dogs have been health tested according to the guidelines of the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America.  Kaffi and Elska's eyes have tested normal in their CERF exam, both dogs have had their hips tested and Elska scored a 0.31 bi-laterally putting her in the top ten percent of the breed tested here in the United States, Kaffi scored 0.63 bi-laterally.

Fox Meadow puppies will be whelped and raised in our home.  We will strive to give them a nurturing environment so that they will get the very best possible start in life.  Our lovely ladies are fed a holistic fish based food giving them and their developing offspring a diet rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA, a building block for improved mental development.  As this diet is a constant in their life, they will continue  on it through nursing and the puppies will be started on it as they begin on solid food.  We will begin clicker training and early socialization excercises in their early days and we hope to begin training for their new families in areas such as walking on a lead, stairs, potty training and the obedience basics as soon as the youngsters are able.

All puppies moving on to new forever homes will:

  •  receive a one year membership to the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America
  • receive a one year membership to their nearest regional chapter
  • AKC-FSS registration
  • all puppies will be microchipped
  • receive their first shots
  • all puppies will receive a puppy CERF test
  • a puppy care package
  • lifetime "technical support" for you and your Fox Meadow puppy

Fox Meadow Jólasvein - "Santa"

Is turning out to be a jolly little guy, very patient and observant.  He's seems to have inherited the best of both his parents and is usually never naughy and nearly always nice!  We certainly are thrilled that "Santa has come to our Town"

Fox Meadow Snæfinnur -

   Frosty the Snowman

Snaefinnur is a very handsome Gold and white,"Chocolate Sable".  Instead of black tips as we usually see in a tan shade Icelandic, his are brown as he carries two genes for chocolate and has none for black.  I know he will be " running here and there all around the square singing catch me if you can" just like his christmas Carol name sake Frosty.

Fox Meadow Trömmari -

the little drummer Boy

A black Tri-Color with an incredible little personality.  He's very sweet and sensitive like his dad.  He is loving clicker training and is doing really well already with banana baby food rewards!  He is the little guy who will  joyfully ask "Shall I play for you ? pa-rum-pa-pum-pum
