Planned for late winter 2008/ early 2009. Spurdann and Elsie should have another exciting litter with lots of Surprises! Pale yellows, Cream Sables, Black Tri-color. Pieds and a hint of a chance of Chocolate Tri-color as well! So many possibilities from two great dogs who are really put together well.
Viking Lilja

Viking Spathass
This will be a delightful red litter of long and Short haired pups. Both of these fabulous dogs have a lovely gentle disposition with plenty of drive for an adventure. The deep red coloring is becoming scarce among the Icelandic Sheepdogs, we hope combined with Lilja's deep red-gold that they will add more pups to our community in this lovely color.
There is a new litter in Iceland sired by our Elsie's ( Thordunu Leppatuska) half brother Thordunu Sera Somi and Tofra Homfrildur Hrifla born Sunday, June 22, 2008. Three Black tri color males were born to Reykjadals Kennels. For more information on these super pups:
Brynhildur Inga Einarsdottir and Reykjadals IcelandicsPlease!! Regardless of what breed of puppy you decide to bring into your home go to a reputable breeder. Ask to visit their facility, ask to see where the dogs live and excercise, ask to see the Dam, ask if her health records are available, be wary of any breeder who specializes in any more than two or three breeds and NEVER purchase from a Pet Store, these are Puppy Mill Puppies. The dogs involved in these operations live a horrific life, purchasing through Pet Stores or direct from a Puppy Mill only perpetuates this practice of abusing dogs for profit!

Viking Spathass aka "Viking"
From the Deck of Cards litter Viking Spathass " the Ace of Spades" has a lovely thick medium coat carries his dam, Viking Bjork's extra long coat as a recessive and also inherited Bjorks brown gene which he carries as well. Called Viking by his family he has a wonderful deep red coloring which is becoming scarce among the Icelandic Sheepdog. He has a wonderful curl to his tail and a fabulous head. We hope to have him sire a litter with our Viking Lilja next year.
From Aldebaran Fjari's only litter is Viking Lilja. A delightful girl who is so very sweet and willing to please. She is the one who inspired us to become more involed with this incredible breed. Everyone who visits is instantly charmed by our Lil' who is very free with her snuggles and kisses. Lilja, our fastest and most agile dog, is beautiful to watch in the field with the sheep, she also won't miss the opportunity to cuddle on the sofa to watch a good movie.
Lilja was one of the Icelandic Sheepdogs featured in James Hansen's book "The Icelandic Sheepdog".
Kersins Spurdann is an incredibly nice dog, great coat, beautiful head, double rear dew claws and fabulous little personality! He and Elska are both imports from an FCI country and we plan to have this litter CKC registerable.
Spurdann was judged Best of Match at the 2007 Hagerstown, Maryland Icelandic Sheepdog Gathering. This was the largest gathering of Icelandic Sheepdogs in the history of the breed in North America, 43 Icelandics were present for the event. I think these puppies will be to good to be true!
Our Thordunu Leppatuska "Elsie" is absolutely the most intelligent dog we have. She is put together incredibly, Elsie has PennHip rated .31 hips Bi-laterally and a clear CERF test. She also produced the first Chocolate Tri-color Icelandic Sheepdog in the United States and her puppies inherited her willingness to learn mastering a sit and down through clicker training by 6 weeks and making eye contacted, targeting your hand for the touch command and a stand. Shame they all left at 8 weeks, I can only imagine what we could have acheived!
Elsie was awarded Best Short Coated Bitch at the Hagerstown Maryland Icelandic Sheepdog gathering over 8 other Icelandic Short Coated Bitches and was placed third over all in a field of 43. We can't wait to see these puppies!
If you would like to be put on our waiting list or submit an application for either of these litters contact us at
Fox Meadow puppies will be whelped and raised in our home. We will strive to give them a nurturing environment so that they will get the very best possible start in life. Our lovely ladies are fed a holistic fish based food giving them and their developing offspring a diet rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA, a building block for improved mental development. As this diet is a constant in their life, they will continue on it through nursing and the puppies will be started on it as they begin on solid food. We will begin clicker training and early socialization excercises in their early days and we hope to begin training for their new families in areas such as walking on a lead, stairs, potty training and the obedience basics as soon as the youngsters are able.
All puppies moving on to new forever homes will:
receive a one year membership to the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America
receive a one year membership to their nearest regional chapter
AKC-FSS registration
all puppies will be microchipped
receive their first shots
all puppies will receive a puppy CERF test
a puppy care package
lifetime "technical support" for you and your Fox Meadow puppy
