Susanne Schutte and Thordunu Ausa of Kennel Fra Klettakoti
Susanne is an Icelandic Sheepdog owner and breeder in Iserlohn, Germany and a member of the FCI- VDH club of Germany. She lives with her four Icelandic Sheepdogs Senta, Tyri, Nypa and Leira, everyone a Champion. Leira whose registered name is Thordunu Ausa is our Leppatuska's littermate. Susanne has invested alot of time in her dogs training them in agility, championing every one in conformation and producing lovely litters of puppies.
Her beautiful girl Nypa has not only recently become an International Champion but has also just delivered a litter of puppies which include an Alspori! The Alspori in an Icelandic Sheepdog is a rare occurence it is when the dog has double dew claws on all four legs, the dew claws aided these dogs while negotiating the rough and rocky terrain of Iceland. Congratualtions Nypa!

Here is the lovely Nor' Star Kiska after a recent agility practice. I wish we all could look this good after a work-out! She certainly is living up to her name, she'd be a "Star" in anyones eyes. Kiska is related to Hippi and Lilja on both sides of the family, her mother Pine Ridge Disa be Niki is Hippi and Lilja's Great Aunt and Her father is Hip' and Lil's Grandfather, Vikris Tyri. No wonder she's such a pretty girl.

Thordunu Ausa "Leira" Leira has the same pretty and unique yellow sable coloring as our Leppatuska, not to mention the awesome curl to the tail that they share.
|
Theo and Grima fra Fugalatori mastering the teeter totter in a competition together. They look like an awesome team!

Kiska as a Therapy dog routinely visits Senior Centers, Nursing Homes and Shut-Ins. Therapy dogs are now also being used as a teaching aid for children to improve their reading skills, the children view them as a non-judgemental friend who they can practice with by reading aloud. The childs reading proficiency not only improves but also their confidence from working with these incredible canine volunteers. It seems Kiska has decided she needs to practice for a whole new career. Here she is listening intently to Russ and Linda's grandson, Quinn.

Well it certainly seems like Leira is happy just look at that smile! Leira is following in the footsteps of her housemates by becoming the VDH German Junior Champion just before her first birthday this December. We are so excited for her and can't wait to see all the incredible things that we know Susanne will be doing with her.

Grima is not the only a star athlete in the family, Olafur at ten years old still is active in flyball, helping to train youngsters in the sport how to pass. Ljosbra Lotta is also active in obedience and flyball. Grima besides being sporty is also a Conformation Champion, having earned herself the AnneMarie Kolbe cup in 2004 AND 2005. She is not only a Dutch Champion but has also become an International Champion! What a gal!

Kiska is obviously a charmer, even Santa can't resist taking time out from his busy schedule to spend some quality time with her.
|
Here is Leira's Championship Award issued by the VDH club and recognized by the FCI, we hope to see her go on to become the VDH Champion as an adult just like her older roll models Senta, Tyri and Nypa. Leppatuska is cheering her sister on from the United States and has her toes crossed that she becomes an International Champion just like Tyri and Nypa! Go Leira!
